Flying by the seat of my pants!
I have been a business owner for 11 years. In that time I have been a reflexologist, trained as a hypnobirthing teaching and added hypnotherapy to the tools of my support.
I am also now an absolute self-confessed essential oils nutcase as I have discovered the power of these beautiful gifts on our everyday lives.
All these training and qualifications have got me where I am today, able to offer my clients tailored support to meet their needs, whether it is stress, anxiety, issues with conceiving or struggles with pregnancy.
I am not a ‘one size fits all’ kinda girl.
And when I wrote my book, in three weeks last year (yes three weeks!) it all came pouring out.
I feel like an oddball.
I feel different to other business owners who have amazing structures to their business, can complete workbooks and follow formulas and become wealthy and prosperous seemingly overnight.
Don’t get me wrong, I have a thriving business, but I didn’t do it by following someone else’s rules or ways of doing things.
Most of my clients come to me because they have heard of me, I have been recommended to them, there is no greater compliment.
Others want to explore one of the ‘tools’ which I am offering, reflexology, hypnotherapy or essential oils classes.
Many realise very quickly that I provide an ‘experience’ not a set formula which puts them at the centre of my world for the time they are with me.
Most people roll their eyes when I tell them I do actually ‘fly by the seat of my pants’ when I am running my business. They despair of me when it is these people I am talking to about support to ‘grow’ my business, because I can’t give them the satisfaction of moving from A to B in a set, predictable way. They tell me that this is not a ‘successful way’ of growing a business.
But structures and formulas just don’t work for me, I go with feeling and fun.
What I love is embracing new concepts, new ideas, and bringing them into the support I give, which makes me Clare Cogan – Creating Calm. Not just another reflexologist, or hypnotherapist.
I want people to feel better and go out into the world and do better with their lives, and my job its to get them to a place where they feel like they can do that again.
Rules, no rules, just compassion, understanding and absolute support.
