So, I want to tell you a story. A story about you, that therapist;
Newly qualified and inspired with a certificate in pride of place, or with a bunch of qualifications steadily growing, you have such excitement about the future, what can be achieved, what you have learnt on your training journey, the opportunities which come from ‘setting up your own business’
And very quickly on this journey, as a wife, mother, daughter, employee, you realise that it takes more than taking action on the ‘practical tools’ to ‘start’ and ‘grow’ your business.
You realise that whilst the websites and the logos and leaflets give you a sense of purpose and make you feel ‘businessy’, they don’t bring the clients through the door.
And you realise, that in order to build a successful business from the ground it up, you have to decide what it is that made you want to do it in the first place, that made you want to keep going when it felt like nothing was working, when life happened and when it all got too much.
It is that fire in your belly, the drive to move forward and make a difference which keeps you going, when other therapists fall along the wayside because it is too hard, it’s not happening the way they expected, they are not making any money.
And it is your sense of purpose, your tenacity and strength that keeps that passion, that fire burning which gives you the opportunity to build your business alongside your life, to keep going and to finally realise that what makes it fun,
what makes it the business that you love more than anything else is because you understand your drive, and your purpose, and every time you revisit that, everything becomes clear.
Does this resonate with YOU?
Do you want to build a business you are proud of, which really is a reflection of you, and who YOU are. Not in a ‘how to’ kind of way, there are enough people out there all about the websites and social media.
But what about the focusing on you, why do you do it, what is your purpose of doing this ‘thing’, what keeps you going, keeps you driving forward.
It is not the qualifications, nor the ones you continue to add to your collection, you don’t need them, your skill set is already there in abundance.
Identifying yourself and your passion is one of the most important things you can do in your business, you not just ‘being’ a reflexologist or a ‘hypnotherapist’, you need to connect with why you do what you do, what’s in it for you. Invest in yourself and the rest will follow.
How do I know?
Because I have been there, for the past 11 years I have been growing, and sustaining a therapy business, alongside work, a growing family and a variety of difficult and challenging circumstances.
And I kept it going.
I knew what I wanted to do more than anything else, and I knew why. That why changed vicariously over the years as my boys grew, and changed and my personal circumstances changed too.
I have learnt that ‘to do’ lists and ‘planning’ are not the be all and end all. I do what I feel compelled to do, not what I feel I have to without the fear of, ‘having no money if I don’t do that ‘thing’’ to bring in the cash.
And what does clarity look like lovely therapist? What does doing what you love rather than doing what everyone else is doing look like?
It looks like being so focused on what you are doing, nothing else matters, not the distraction of social media, not the desire to compare your prices and treatments with others to ‘make sure’ you are doing it ‘right’. It means looking forward to devoting just 20 minutes per day developing what you love, what lights you up inside.
It looks like writing a book in 3 weeks because you discovered that was your passion.
It looks like establishing a thriving essential oils addition to your business and having a thriving engaging group of over 80 members within a month because you love sharing and talking about pure therapeutic grade essential oils and sharing how they can really change peoples lives.
And it looks like getting up in the morning, not being able to wait for the day to start, doing it your own way, not someone else’s prescribed way of ‘doing things’.
That’s my clarity, and I want to share this opportunity for you to achieve the same.
I’d love to chat to you, and talk to you about your dreams, and your desires. What lights YOU up, what is YOUR drive in YOUR business.
Gave me a call on 07843 055587 or drop me an email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a time to talk online or offline about YOU and YOUR business as the wonderful therapist you are.
I can’t wait to hear from you.
